Objects of the Association
The purpose, as written in the bye-laws.
- To promote and protect the interests of the business of dates, dry fruits and spices.
- To decide on bye-laws, rules, customs and conventions of the trade in dates and dry fruits, and to work for uniform practice.
- To help promote and carry out Government policy on the import and export of dates and dry fruits, in the mutual interest of the trade.
- To advise members on problems that arise from any law, order, notification, policy, rule or regulation, or from administrative difficulty.
- To work for the progress and prosperity of the Association, especially in finance and business, to promote the import and export of dates and dry fruits.
- To own, hold, build, maintain and alter buildings needed by the Association, and to provide rooms and facilities for its work.
- To create and promote cordial relations and a spirit of co-operation among members.
- To make and amend rules, regulations and bye-laws, including for arbitration and settlement of trade disputes and for discipline, and to appoint committees and set their powers.
- To enter into arrangements with any Government or authority, and to obtain rights, licences, privileges or concessions that serve these objects.
- To do all other lawful things that help achieve these objects. The Association shall not impose any regulation or restriction that would make it a trade union.
